Area Attractions- Things to do, places to go and people to see:

Hartland- We are one mile from Spicer’s Orchards. Pick strawberries and cherries in June, raspberries and blueberries in July and sweet peaches in August. Fall is all about apples, enjoy fresh cider and melt in your mouth donuts. Beginning late September there is also a haunted corn maze for the brave of heart!

Parshallville- We are three miles from Historic Parshallville Grist Mill. Located in quaint Parshallville this picturesque setting provides endless photograph opportunities for that “Halloween” memory album. While there, be sure to sample wonderful fresh pressed cider and yummy warm donuts.

Brighton, Howell and Hartland- Farmers Market on the streets offer fresh produce and craft items every Saturday morning beginning in May until October. Also in Hartland you will find Tyme Well Spent, a beautiful vintage Victorian Home converted into a Tea House. Enjoy the ambience of yesteryear as you dine for lunch. A must do for your next trip to Hartland!

Brighton- In fifteen minutes you’re in Downtown Brighton. Main Street offers many cute, little stores full of treasures. The Millpond is right in the middle of downtown. A walk-over bridge takes you across the river to meandering wooden walk ways. Rest in one of the many inviting sitting areas and enjoy the local nature. A couple of miles from downtown you will find Green Oaks Village Place, a brand new, upscale mall. You could spend hours here so you might want to save this for Sunday afternoon!

Howell- The city of Howell prides itself for its preservation of authentic Victorian architecture. Drive through downtown and enjoy beautifully maintained old store fronts. The countless vintage homes are best seen on foot. Park on one of the side streets and be prepared to be impressed. Don’t forget the old Court House, it’s a must see! If you still haven’t had your fill of “vintage”, take an excursion to the Antique Mall just a couple of miles out of town. This large mall is loaded with priceless treasures. Oh, did we mention, right next to the mall is Tanger Shopping Outlet Mall?

Howell also offers 3 outstanding events:
The Balloon Festival- In late June the skies are filled with dozens of hot air balloons, a great photo opportunity and an amazing sight to see. Weather permitting balloons are launched Saturday morning and Friday and Saturday evenings. There are fun activities throughout the weekend and tons of vendors selling everything from jewelry to clothing to arts and crafts.

The Melon Festival- Late August is Melon Festival weekend. Howell’s famous melons are mouth watering sweet and sold on the sidewalks. Take them home for a family treat or enjoy a half there, they’ll even put a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream right in the middle if you ask! The weekend is packed with activities, including an old-fashioned parade on Saturday at noon.

Festival of Lights- In November, garland, bows and lights decorate storefronts, and the town becomes a sparkling winter wonderland for the Festival of Lights Parade. With Thanksgiving dinner over, you can really relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of this unique parade. Afterwards, while the traffic clears out, enjoy a walk through city blocks where grand Victorians are decked out in holiday splendor. You’ll want to come back time and again to enjoy this magical evening.

Holly- Holly becomes “Christmas Past” during the months of November and December. The streets are filled with Dickens characters who carol and perform skits where audience participation is encouraged and recommended for a really great time. Enjoy the smells of popcorn and chestnuts roasting on an open fire. Warm up in one of many charming specialty and antique stores that line the street. Behind the historic Holly Hotel you’ll find the Water Tower, a large antique mall that just might have the perfect gift for someone on your list. Holly is 30 minutes away but well worth the drive. Be warned, it is very easy to fill an afternoon here so save this one for Sunday afternoon!
